We are seeking an experienced medical receptionist to join our physical therapy practice in Morristown. This position is best suited for a mature, career-minded professional with a strong background in medical office administration and a stable work history. The right candidate is organized, outgoing, and confident — someone who creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our patients while ensuring that front desk operations run smoothly. Although primary responsibilities are at the front desk, some physical therapy aide work is also included.
Please note: This position is not suited for students or individuals seeking short-term employment.
Hours: 20 to 24 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday, with the ability to flex up or down as needed by the practice. Start time is 8:00 or 9:00. End of day will vary from 1:30 to 3:30.
About our Practice
We are a patient-centered physical therapy practice owned by a female physical therapist for just over 36 years. We are a private practice, not corporate owned. While we treat all conditions, we specialize in treating head, neck, jaw, orofacial pain, headaches and myofascial pain conditions. Our patients receive individualized, one-on-one care from licensed physical therapists. It is important to us that our patients receive a warm, friendly and knowledgeable experience.
Preferred Experience:
· Previous work in a physical therapy or dental office (Many of our referrals come from dental providers.)
· Strong knowledge of insurance benefits and office procedures
· Computer proficiency
· Medical knowledge/terminology are a plus.

Responsibilities:
· Greet and assist patients
· Maintain a full, consolidated schedule and follow up on unscheduled patients
· Enforce cancellation and no-show policies
· Verify insurance benefits through insurance portals and phone calls
· Document insurance benefits and establish payment plans with help from the Billing Office
· Explain insurance benefits and payment plans to patients
· Explanation of our practice and specialties to prospective patients
· Patient intake & data entry of demographics, insurance and medical information
· Creating patient charts and chart organization (We do not have EMR)
· Faxing, copying, scanning, distribution of documents and charts
· Collect payments and reconcile daily transactions
· Maintain a safe, clean office and manage office supplies
· Assist physical therapy staff with aide duties as needed
· Communicate with the Billing Office and Office Manager in our other office location on a regular basis.
