Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our vibrant team in Morris County and surrounding areas. In this role, you will inspire confidence and foster a love for swimming among students of all ages and skill levels. Your enthusiasm, expertise, and positive attitude will help participants achieve their water safety goals while enjoying a fun, engaging learning environment. Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and safe swimming lessons for children, teens, and adults, tailoring instruction to individual skill levels and learning styles
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, water safety skills, and sports coaching methods such as basketball or cheerleading when applicable
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and disciplined class atmosphere
- Conduct assessments of students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently, including lifeguard responsibilities when necessary
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other staff to support students’ development and address any concerns
- Maintain clean, organized facilities and equipment to promote a safe learning environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a lifeguard or in sports coaching, teaching, or martial arts such as Karate, Judo, or Climbing is highly desirable
- Strong background in swimming instruction or physical education teaching with a passion for working with children and students of all ages
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to foster respectful and focused classroom environments
- Certifications in lifeguarding or water safety are preferred; willingness to obtain required certifications prior to start date is acceptable
- Experience working in health clubs or gyms is a plus, especially those offering childcare services or group fitness classes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage learners effectively
