Special Education Teacher

Role Description The Special Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Salisbury, NC. This position is responsible for planning and delivering individualized and small-group instruction for students with diverse learning needs, in alignment with school curriculum and best practices in special education. Daily tasks include assessing student abilities, developing and implementing individualized education plans, adapting materials and teaching strategies, and monitoring progress. The Special Education Teacher collaborates closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff, and maintains accurate documentation to support student growth and compliance with school policies. The role also involves fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that reflects the school’s Christian values and promotes positive social and emotional development.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to teach and support students at the middle school level, with strong classroom management and instructional skills.
• Knowledge of special education practices, including working with students with disabilities and designing appropriate accommodations and interventions.
