ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE PAINTER - FULL-TIME
Position Summary
For over 40 years, North Hill has been a vibrant not-for-profit senior living community dedicated to enriching the lives of those 65 . This position is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of painting of the buildings. This includes erecting staging and installing sheet rock as required. This position will also assist with other maintenance responsibilities as directed.

Pay Range: $25-$27/hour

Job Specific Duties

- Removes paint, fills cracks and holes, smooth wall and wood surfaces and prepares for brush or spray painting
- Prepares and mixes paints, stains, sealants, etc. and applies to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray painting equipment
- Erects staging and position ladders as necessary for painting ceilings and other elevated surfaces
- Installs sheet rock, tape seams, applies joint compounds, sands and prepares surfaces for wall coverings; moves, protects, and replace furniture in Resident apartments and other locations
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and across the campus, including plumbing, plastering, electrical work, carpentry, mechanical repairs, fixing leaks, clearing roof surfaces of debris, and other related duties
- Assists with snow removal operations
- Performs maintenance duties as required
- Maintains inventory system
- Performs preventive maintenance audits as directed
- Provides security function in the absence of security staff
- Responds to radio calls promptly and professionally
- Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements
- Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skills
- Complies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguards
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of facilities experience with a focus on interior painting
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
- Proficient with computer software programs
- May be subject to work during emergencies such as inclement weather, evaluation and other disasters
- May be asked to stay onsite for 24 or more hours until emergency ends
- Assistance may be necessary during the evacuation of Residents during emergency situations
- This position participates in an on-call rotation in addition to the normal working hours
- This position requires regular weekend and holiday work
