The Post-Master’s Certification in Administration and Supervision Program (PMCAS) of the College of Education at North Greenville University invites applications for the position of part-time Principal Internship Supervisor. Successful applicants will hold a public-school principal certification in South Carolina and be available during regular school hours to supervise students during their internship experiences. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe administrative interns in their school placements in public schools
  • Hold meetings with interns before and/or after internship experiences
  • Periodically participate in meetings with the PMCAS faculty
  • Meet on three scheduled Saturdays during a 6-month period for intern meetings
  • Affirm an understanding of, and willingness not to teach contrary to, the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
  • Affirm understanding of, and willingness not to teach contrary to, the University’s Statement on Human Flourishing
  • Agree to abide by the employee and faculty handbooks, including community standards agreements.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Visual Abilities: Read reports, complete observations/accompanying forms, and use a computer.
  • Hearing: Hear well enough to communicate with co-workers and students.
  • Dexterity, grasping, feeling, writing, typing, and using the telephone, copier, and computer.
  • Mobility: Open files and operate office machines; move between departments and attend meetings across campus.
  • Talking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions  75 to 100% of the time.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

This opportunity is a part-time, 8-week term position in the PMCAS Program. Contracts can be renewed every 8 weeks on a program needs basis. Principal interns first report to the Internship Coordinator who reports to the Director of the PMCAS Program, who then reports to the Associate Dean of the College of Education and then to the Dean of the College of Education.

WORK SCHEDULE

The work schedule will depend on the following: the number of PMCAS interns assigned to the supervisor; the location of the schools they are assigned to; and the number of required meetings the supervisor will have with each assigned intern.

TRAVEL

A supervisor will be expected to travel during regular school hours to meet with the assigned interns. Interns are placed in various public schools around Greenville, Pickens, Anderson, and Spartanburg counties.

Qualifications:
  • SC Principal Certification, current
  • Verifiable prior principalship experience
  • Understand and comply with FERPA regulations
  • Must support NGU’s mission statement on Human Flourishing and core values and be committed to a Christian lifestyle that demonstrates character in keeping with a biblical model
