Position Title: Thrift Store Coordinator
Reports To: Assistant Director
Status: Full-Time

Position Summary
The Thrift Store Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the thrift store, ensuring an organized, welcoming, and mission-aligned environment. This role manages donations, merchandising, volunteers, administrative duties, social media, and community engagement while supporting the organization’s financial goals and visibility.
Primary Responsibilities
Store Operations
- Oversee and manage daily thrift store operations to ensure a clean, safe, and customer-friendly environment.
- Open and close the store following organizational procedures.
- Maintain organized sales floors, back rooms, donation intake areas, and storage spaces.
- Ensure all pricing, tagging, and merchandise displays follow established guidelines.
Donations & Inventory
- Receive, sort, evaluate, and process donated items for quality and resale suitability.
- Organize merchandise for efficient restocking and inventory rotation.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely removal of unsellable items.
Administrative & Reporting Duties
- Run monthly sales and operations reports as required.
- Schedule, complete, and submit timesheets accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with organizational financial and reporting procedures.
Customer Service & Community Engagement
- Provide friendly, professional service to customers and donors.
- Receive, document, and respond to feedback from shoppers to improve store operations and customer experience.
- Build and maintain positive relationships within the local community to support donations, partnerships, and visibility.
Volunteer & Staff Management
- Educate community on organization’s mission while training and supervising volunteers.
- Provide clear instructions, coaching, and staff meetings to ensure consistency and performance.
Communication & Coordination
- Communicate regularly with the Assistant Director regarding store needs, staffing and operational updates.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals and procedures.
Marketing & Social Media
- Manage thrift store social media platforms to promote sales, events, donation needs, and community updates.
- Create engaging content, including photos, posts, and announcements, aligned with organizational branding.
- Support marketing initiatives and special events designed to increase store traffic and donations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred.
- Retail or thrift store experience greater than a year is a MUST.
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency with basic computer software, point-of-sale systems, and social media platforms.
Work Environment
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and moving merchandise.
- Rotating Saturday shifts
- Fast-paced retail environment with frequent public interaction.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
