The Operations Assistant supports the daily operations of the organization by assisting with financial processes, volunteer management, victim services, legal advocacy support, and outreach services. This position helps ensure efficient operations while providing compassionate, trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the separation and organization of donations, deposits, and other financial documentation in accordance with agency procedures.
- Support the recruitment, scheduling, training, and recognition of volunteers while maintaining volunteer records.
- Attend and support community outreach events to increase awareness and education of the organization's services, strengthen community relationships, and assist with volunteer recruitment.
- Represent the organization professionally at community events, networking opportunities, and volunteer fairs.
- Provide administrative support for legal program services, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and coordinating referrals.
- Participate in the agency's sexual assault on-call rotation and respond to hospital, law enforcement, or community requests as needed.
- Assist walk-in clients by providing crisis intervention, connecting individuals with appropriate services, and ensuring a welcoming, supportive environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in agency databases while ensuring client confidentiality.
- Assists in keeping the work environment clean and organized.
- Answer phones, assist with general office operations, and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with advocates, staff, volunteers, community partners, and the Executive Director to ensure quality service delivery.
- Additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, human services, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with social media and postings
- Experience working in a nonprofit, victim services, or administrative setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to work with individuals experiencing crisis in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel locally for outreach events, meetings, and on-call response
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
