Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and student-centered Elementary Music Teacher who is passionate about fostering a love of music in young learners. The ideal candidate will design engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that build foundational music skills while nurturing creativity, collaboration, and confidence in all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality music instruction aligned with state and district standards
- Teach fundamental music concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, movement, and performance
- Incorporate singing, instruments, movement, and technology into daily instruction
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity
- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to students and families
- Organize and direct student performances (e.g., concerts, programs, school events)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate music across the curriculum
- Maintain classroom instruments, materials, and equipment
- Participate in school events, professional development, and collaborative team meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field (required)
- Valid state teaching certification in Music (required)
- Experience teaching elementary-aged students (preferred)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of child development and best practices in music instruction
- Ability to inspire and engage students of varying abilities and backgrounds
