North Daviess R-III is seeking dependable substitute cooks to assist with preparing and serving school meals when regular food service staff are absent.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene procedures.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, work areas, and serving spaces.
- Assist with dishwashing, food storage, and kitchen organization.
- Follow directions regarding food allergies and special dietary needs.
- Work cooperatively with school staff to provide friendly, efficient meal service.
- Follow district policies and maintain student confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures.
- Dependability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to safely perform essential kitchen duties, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.
- Complete required background checks and district employment requirements.
- Food service experience preferred but not required.
Schedule: As needed, based on staff absences. Students generally attend Tuesday through Friday.
