North Daviess R-III School District
North Daviess R-III is seeking a high school girls basketball coach to serve as an assistant coach for the North Daviess/Winston cooperative team. All practices and home games will be held at Winston.
The assistant coach will work with the head coach to develop players’ basketball skills, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and provide a positive, structured experience for student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach with practices, game preparation, and game-day coaching.
- Teach basketball fundamentals, strategies, and conditioning.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and assigned team activities.
- Reinforce expectations for attendance, academics, conduct, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with players, families, the coaching staff, and school administration.
- Follow district policies, cooperative agreements, and applicable MSHSAA rules.
- Assist with equipment, uniforms, and other duties assigned by the head coach or athletic director.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and coaching techniques.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to student safety, development, and academic success.
- Ability to meet applicable district and MSHSAA coaching requirements.
- Availability for practices and home games at Winston and travel to away games.
- Previous coaching experience preferred.
