What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at North Dallas Bank and Trust (NDBT)?
Overview
Develop a procedural understanding and perform routine Accounting Department responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Reconciliations of various accounts, including Federal Reserve, correspondent banks, official checks, and various general ledger and internal accounts.
- Accounts payable processing and coding.
- Compile monthly reports.
- Balance and post depreciation and expense accruals.
- Assist with vendor management.
- Assist in areas of the department as needed.
- Ensure files are kept in order.
- Represent and promote NDBT in a positive manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Two years or more of relevant work experience in accounting or finance, experience in banking preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Understanding of ethical accounting practices and adherence to compliance regulations.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess financial data and identify discrepancies.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
