What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Services Specialist position at North Dakota Workforce Safety & Insurance?
Summary of Work
This position provides comprehensive IT support across cybersecurity, application development, database support, and desktop services. Responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing Oracle databases, supporting the agency's cybersecurity posture through monitoring, training, vulnerability management, and system security improvements, and responding to security threats. The role also performs application analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation for new and existing systems. In addition, the position delivers end-user and desktop support, manages hardware and software, administers user accounts and security in Active Directory and Oracle, supports help desk operations, and assists with automation and workflow optimization to improve business processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree in computer science, data processing, cybersecurity, telecommunications or a related field and two years of work experience in technical support or cybersecurity.
- Or a bachelor's degree in computer science, data processing, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Work experience would substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
- Certifications in cybersecurity are preferred but not required.
