Help change the world and improve the lives of North Dakota citizens by protecting a network of over 250,000 devices. North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) is seeking an Information Security Analyst for our Information Security Division.
This position is a hybrid role and requires the ability to be able to respond to Fraine Barracks in Bismarck, ND within one hour. This role is a long term, temporary position with no identified end date, and provides fully state paid medical insurance.
As our Information Security Analyst, you will:
- Aid and support the Cybersecurity team in collecting and analyzing threat intelligence
- Provide guidance on opportunities for detections, protection, and risk-based remediation strategies.
- Gather, synthesize, and analyze open-source intelligence information.
- Work as part of the North Dakota State and Local Intelligence Center (NDSLIC).
The NDSLIC consists of state, local, and federal agencies focused on gathering, analyzing, and sharing intelligence on crimes such as drugs, fraud, and terrorism. This data supports law enforcement, government officials, and private industry in decision-making, public safety, and proactive law enforcement while protecting citizens' privacy. Your role will involve analyzing threats, providing intelligence, and promoting cybersecurity awareness for North Dakota's critical infrastructure across both public and private sectors.

You should be highly organized, able to manage your time and priorities effectively in order to meet organization standards. You should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships while working independently and within a team.
To be considered for this role, you must have you must have completed a Cybersecurity apprenticeship, a collegiate level cybersecurity certification program, or have four (4) years of current and progressive work experience with computer system security activities.
Additional formal education experience may be substituted for the professional work experience year requirement on a year for year basis.
Security certifications from a qualified vendor, such as SANS, ISC2, ISACA, CompTIA or EC Council, may be substituted for up to one year of experience.
This position requires the ability to be able to respond to Fraine Barracks in Bismarck within one hour. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements outlined in Executive Order 12968 (must be a United States citizen). An enhanced background check is also required to be completed and passed for this position.
