What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Application Support Specialist II position at North Dakota Information Technology Dept?

North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) is seeking a candidate that has the drive necessary to deliver world class technology as a Business Application Support Specialist II. This role provides support and administration for Bank of North Dakota (BND) business applications, including incident response, request processing, and daily application maintenance tasks. Experience with Financial Services applications from Fiserv is preferred but not required.
The Business Application Support Specialist II must have strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, with keen attention to detail. This role works closely with BND business users to address inquiries, communicate priorities and issues, and ensure their business function needs are met through supported applications. The specialist must have excellent client relationship skills, resolve escalations independently, and coordinate technical escalation when needed.
- Perform application tasks, including troubleshooting and resolving application related issues
- Provide technical assistance in the planning, implementation, maintenance and documentation of agency systems
- Maintain awareness of multiple applications' interfaces and integrations to effectively support business processes
- Monitor, coordinate and resolve incidents and/or changes requested by business users and vendors, and provide status updates to BND stakeholders
- Analyze and coordinate software installations/upgrades.
- Coordinate with NDIT, vendors, and BND on software upgrades and regular maintenance to determine impact to existing business processes
- Identify, document, and clearly articulate operational functions and work with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities
- Act as a trusted partner on new technology strategies and decisions
- Maintain records and update/create documentation as necessary
- Assist with after-hours maintenance activities and participate in on-call rotations
- Collaborate with users in new application training and testing
Candidates for this position may live anywhere in North Dakota or a border community (Moorhead, MN, East Grand Forks, MN, etc). If selected candidate lives within a 50 miles radius of NDIT offices in Bismarck or Fargo, North Dakota they will work on site one day a week. Otherwise, this position will work remotely full time.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Network Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field, and one year experience in the supporting of business applications, to include troubleshooting, implementation, and training.
Associate Degree in Network Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field, and three years' experience in the supporting business applications, to include troubleshooting, implementation, and training.
Five years' work experience in supporting business applications, to include troubleshooting, implementation, and training.
Residency requirement: Candidates for this position may live anywhere in North Dakota or a border community (Moorhead, MN, East Grand Forks, MN, etc).
