What are the responsibilities and job description for the K-8 Math Coach (Anticipated 2026-2027 school year) position at North Country Supervisory Union?
Position Goal: To provide leadership and direction in the improvement of instructional practice and student performance in North Country Supervisory Union schools in their K-8 classrooms. Qualifications: Passionate about teaching and learning, as well as an in-depth knowledge of mathematical content and pedagogy.Masters Degree or graduate level coursework in mathematics.A minimum of 5 successful years of classroom experience with demonstrated effective math practices.Excellent presentation skills, collaborative skills, and group leadership skills.Experience modeling universal and intervention math lessons.Preferred experience with All Learners Network High Leverage Concepts, Lesson Structure, and assessments.A willingness to learn and to be receptive to feedback.Responsibilities: Support teachers in the North Country Schools system in mathematics teaching and learning.Collaborate with instructional coaches, specialists, coordinators, and administrators. Facilitate implementation of appropriate mathematics curriculum by providing technical assistance and on-going support for teachers to: Identify, utilize and implement learning activities and materials; employ effective teaching strategies; evaluate student progress; participate in student screening and progress monitoring.Design and facilitate professional development opportunities for classroom teachers and interventionists.Work with teachers and interventionists to support students who have unique learning needs and recommend appropriate instructional and differentiation practices.Demonstrate best instructional practice through modeling and coaching, strengthening universal instruction.Assist building and district efforts to implement high quality mathematics instruction and intervention aligned with VT-AOE initiatives and the Common Core State Standards. Salary and Benefits: As per Teachers Negotiated Agreement.
Salary range between $49,970 and $89,460. Based on previous experience and education level. This position is funded either partially or fully with Federal funds and may be eliminated if NCSU does not receive these funds.
