What are the responsibilities and job description for the Career and Technical Education School Counselor (2026-2027 school year) position at North Country Supervisory Union?
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree or its equivalent with a concentration in guidance.Must be licensed as or meet the Vermont Standards for licensure for Career and Technical Education School Counseling Coordinator (11-73).A minimum of two (2) years of educational work experience in technical/vocational education, with a total of six (6) years of experience in education.Excellent organizational, written, oral, technological, and interpersonal skills.Job Duties: Plan recruitment activities for prospective 10th grade students.Support the development and implementation of annual outreach activities with NCSU and OCSU middle schools.Collaborate with the director to design NCCC master schedule that aligns with programming at our sending schools.Collect and oversee data entry of CTE state database, as required by the Agency of Education.Organize current dual enrollment/Fast Forward with NCCC staff that are offering these credits, with the goal to increase our offerings.Work with groups of students and provide individual support as needed to develop post-secondary goals and actionable plans.Communicate with NCCC staff and sending schools to support students who are struggling and collaborate with the Director and NCCC Special Needs Coordinator to address needs.Administer WorkKeys testing.Salary and Benefits: As per the NCSU Teachers Negotiated Agreement.Interested candidates must submit a letter of interest; resume listing three current references (or 3 current letters of reference); copies of transcripts and a copy of appropriate Vermont licensure via Schoolspring.com (preferred) or to: Gwen Bailey-Rowe, NCCC Director209 Veterans AvenueNewport, VT 05855or E-mail: gwen.bailey-rowe@ncsuvt.orgApplication Deadline: The application-screening process will begin immediately and continue until a suitable candidate is found.
