The North Country Union Junior High School seeks a creative, collegial, and motivated teacher to join our middle school team and school family. Our school mission is to be a community that shares the responsibility for the intellectual and personal development of all learners within an environment of trust, safety and respect.The successful candidate will hold (or be eligible for) a Vermont license in the area of Social Studies (4-19D or 2-15) and will have background or experience in the following areas: Knowledge and understanding of middle school children and programs. Student-centered learning (be able to describe and cite examples of this from his/her own practice). Strong collegial skills and examples of working with others to achieve great learning experiences for students--working together is a must, not an option.
Effective use of technology to improve student learning and prepare students for the 21st century. Strong communication skills and knowledge of standards-based instruction. A love of working with students; someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty because they know that teaching is a noble profession and serving students is a worthy pursuit.
