Accounts Payable Specialist

North Central Utility (NCU) is looking for a self-motivated and results driven Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team at our DeForest, Wisconsin location. The AP Specialist is a fully onsite role that handles both corporate accounting functions and support to branch locations. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Process high volume AP invoices 

• Run reports as needed 

• Manage AP processes 

• Process inter-company transfers and transmittals

• Track and apply credits and refunds with vendors 

• Statement processing 

• Credit card tracking and reconciliation 

• Maintain and post in GL

• Verify correct application of sales tax

• Complete credit applications and tax information requests

• Work within department and cross-functionally with other departments 

• Assist bookkeepers at other store locations 

• Reconcile trial balances 

• Process physical checks for payments

• Accounting training as needed 

• Answer phones and filing

• Assist Senior Accountant and/or Controller as needed 

• Assist sales department as needed 

Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required 

• Associate degree preferred 

• At least one year of previous Accounts Payable experience required 

• Exceptional problem-solving skills 

• Excellent work ethic

• Strong computer skills 

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency 

• Proficient with technology
