Job Summary
This position is to provide administrative support to the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) with priority focus in providing access to accommodations for students with disabilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform administrative duties including appointment scheduling for all staff, provide general information and requirements for Disability Services.
- Provide direct support to students with disabilities as needed. For example, submit textbook information for students who use e-books, read aloud for students when needed, proctor exams taken in Testing Center. In the absence of the OSD Manager, provide accommodation letters for “Active” students only.
- Work with instructors to assist them in providing appropriate and reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Greet students who come into the office and provide information about OSD and our services. Also provide general information about NCTC, admissions, testing, etc.
- Be available as a mentor to students when possible, and communicate with OSD personnel to assist in problem solving. Refer students to appropriate community organizations for programs or services.
- Create files for OSD students and maintain appropriate documentation. Adhere to a strict confidentiality code including FERPA with all student files and information.
- Maintain and update budget information for all OSD department expenditures. Submit invoices and requisitions in My NCTC as instructed by OSD personnel.
- Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent (GED); Associate’s degree preferred.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities and meeting program deadlines.
- Ability to work with difficult situations and individuals
- Problem solving skills
- Knowledge of disability law (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing environments
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
Preferred Skills & Abilities
Required Experience
- One year of clerical or related experience;
Preferred Experience
- One to two years administration and data collection experience preferred
- One to two years previous experience working with at-risk individuals preferred
- Previous experience in Higher Education preferred
