Position Summary: North Central Missouri College is seeking a full-time, tenure track Fine Arts Instructor and Coordinator. The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to fine arts and art history while being qualified to teach a variety of courses offered by the Art department. The successful candidate will also lead coordination efforts for the Dorris Rider Art Gallery and promote student participation in community- and regionally-based fine art activities.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt
FULL TIME/PART TIME: Full-time, 9-month contract SHIFT: Day shift, weekdays
LOCATION: Main Campus, Trenton, MO (onsite, in-person)
Essential Functions: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teach a range of courses offered by the Art department including Art Appreciation, Drawing, and Painting.
- Work collaboratively with Academic Affairs administrators to ensure course transferability with public colleges and universities in Missouri.
- Manage art supplies needed for student projects.
- Engage students in co-curricular fine arts opportunities, including collaborating with local arts organizations.
- Manage the Dorris Rider Art Gallery, including organization of regional art exhibits, as well as local and student art shows.
- Advance student learning through exemplary instruction in accordance with established curricula.
- Teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester at a variety of times while responding to institutional needs.
- Commit to the learning process by participating in the development and revision of curriculum.
- Provide access to students by being available during office hours and responding through electronic communication.
- Continuously improve instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods to ensure student success.
- Utilize course and program assessment strategies for continuous improvement.
- Implement assessment tools measuring student progress while providing regular feedback.
- Comply with all state and federal guidelines relating to faculty.
- Attend and contribute to Faculty Senate, Division meetings, as well as other committees and duties outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Art, Art History, Graphic Arts, Fine Arts, or an earned Master’s degree with at least eighteen (18) approved graduate credit hours in the subject or related fields.
Experience: Teaching experience at the post-secondary level, along with technology-infused instruction, is preferred. The candidate should provide evidence of an active studio practice and exhibition record, including local, regional, and/or national exhibitions when applying.
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to build relationships and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven organizational, analytical, and time management skills, displaying initiative when completing tasks. Must have the ability to work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Physical Demands: Moving about in buildings and on the NCMC campuses; reaching, pulling, and pushing when performing office duties; remain stationary at a desk for extended periods while working on a computer. Teach in a classroom setting for extended periods.
Environmental Demands: Fluctuations while moving on tile and carpeted floors in a heated and air-conditioned environment.
