Position Summary: The assistant coach will assist the head coach to evaluate, identify, and recruit quality student-athletes. Additionally, this position will support and assist with all aspects of the training program (including strength and conditioning); practice and meet management; travel coordination; camps and clinics; and other administrative duties as assigned. The Campus Activities Coordinator will be responsible for planning and assisting in the provision of social, recreational, cultural, and educational programming opportunities and events to foster student engagement and enhancement. They will supervise the game room and student workers.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master’s Degree Preferred.
Experience: Event planning centered around post-secondary student life preferred. Student leadership and conduct accountability experience preferred. Coaching experience, playing at the collegiate level experience required.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organizational and time management skills. Maintain positive working relationships with a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and flexible/extended hours.
Physical Demands: Must be able to move distances, ascend and descend stairs, and move moderate weight objects (10-30 lbs.). Must be able to grasp with both hands, bend to reach the ground and reach above shoulder height. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both face-to-face and on the phone. The nature of the position requires the individual to work various hours throughout the day, nights, and weekends. Moving about between buildings on the NCMC campus; remain stationary at a desk for periods of time while typing and answering phones.
Environmental Demands: Fluctuations while moving on tile and carpeted floors in a heated and air conditioned environment. Working in a gym and in settings where noise is elevated.

Essential Functions: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to
Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach
- Responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation and administration of all facets of the program; including recruitment.
- Duties include but are not limited to: recruiting, travel planning, overseeing academics, maintenance, game day prep and coaching.
- Develop, coordinate, and administer a calendar of campus-wide programs, activities and events
- Coordinate campus programming centered around social and cultural events, global citizenship, leadership programs, compliance efforts, service learning, and wellness with goals of student satisfaction, engagement, and retention
- Provide supervision for the Student Center Game Room and student workers
- Track student attendance at events and assess involvement and interest based on programmatic goals
- Serve as co-advisor to Student Senate, including plan and facilitate retreat, attend Student Senate meetings, and help coordinate activities
- Develop and advise Campus Activities Board to plan, promote, and assist with campus programming
- Coordinate NCMC Service Day, to include on-campus and off-campus participants and organizations
- Develop leadership training that will serve student organization leaders
- Develop and continually update student organization handbook
- Coordinate student organization advisor training, maintain contact with advisors and assist with the creation of new clubs/organizations when identified
- Work collaboratively with Residence Life and the Residence Hall Association to coordinate activities and events
- Maintain budget and accurately project budget expenditures for programs and events
- Work closely with those who have compliance responsibilities to meet relevant programmatic responsibilities.
- Maintain an inventory of all equipment and supplies
- Lead the development & coordination of intramural activities on campus (Attn to life sports, i.e. bowling, ping pong, golf, disc golf)
- Other duties as assigned
