Other Work/Responsibilities
- The primary responsibilities of this position include pruning, weeding, mulching, blowing, planting, watering, and debris removal.
- This position applies sound horticultural practices and integrated pest management procedures, serving as a plant care expert within a designated area of campus.
- The Horticultural Specialist ensures that all service agreements involving plant maintenance are fulfilled in accordance with established contracts, including tasks such as fertilization, pruning, general maintenance, and soil testing.
- Three to five years grounds maintenance and/or arboriculture experience.
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with supervisors and the general public.
- Position should be able to understand verbal and written instructions regarding work assignments and other matters.
- Horticultural/Grounds maintenance experience
- Lift up to 60 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
- A high level of applicable horticultural care and maintenance with some irrigation knowledge.
- Three to five years grounds maintenance and/or arboriculture experience.
