The NC State University Libraries supports and enables research and learning by providing collections, services, spaces, and technologies for the NC State community and its partners. The Libraries’ Strategic Plan describes our mission and goals, which are aligned with those of the university. They include welcoming and engaging the whole university community; empowering students for a lifetime of success and impact; supporting research, scholarship, innovation, and collaboration; fostering entrepreneurial thinking and problem-solving; and expanding our engagement with individuals and communities across North Carolina. We carry out this work in an atmosphere where all individuals are welcomed, valued, and respected. The library system consists of the D. H. Hill Jr. Library, the James B. Hunt Jr. Library, and branch libraries for design, natural resources, and veterinary medicine. For more information about the Libraries, please see https://lib.ncsu.edu.

The Acquisitions & Discovery (A&D) department supports the teaching and research program of the University by providing searchable metadata for the more than 3.5 million volumes and 110,000 print and electronic journal subscriptions purchased by the NC State University Libraries, thus preserving and making accessible the intellectual content of the library’s collections. The Monographs unit is one of three units within the Acquisitions & Discovery department. The main focus of Monographs within the department is to serve as a highly skilled task force to acquire, receive, describe and deliver monographic materials in all formats to facilitate use of, and access to, the library’s collections.
