The College of Veterinary Medicine’s ( CVM ) Computing Resources unit is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Application Developer to join our team. We are looking for an individual with an academic background or up to 2 years of professional experience, who has a strong desire to learn and grow in a professional development environment.
The developer will work closely with our senior team members, providing support on new features, bug fixes, and well-defined development tasks across our application portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience by contributing to essential internal applications. Prior coursework or practical experience with ColdFusion is highly desirable.

- Assist in the design, coding, testing, and deployment of web applications and services.
- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications, with guidance from senior developers.
- Learn and apply best practices for integrating web applications with backend database systems (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL , etc.).
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate effectively within an agile development process.
High School 2 Years of relevant experience
Department Required Skills
- Foundational knowledge of web application programming, with a preference for experience
- Understanding of relational databases and basic SQL .
- Eagerness to learn and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills—must be comfortable asking questions
- ColdFusion (Highly preferred)
- SQL (Oracle/Postgres/MS SQL /MySQL)
- HTML , CSS , and Javascript
- Version Control systems (e.g., Git)
- Other scripting languages (e.g., Python, PHP )
- Working with APIs and web services.
- Knowledge of healthcare integration standards like Mirth or HL7.
