The North Carolina Department of Revenue is seeking a skilled and confident Employee Relations professional to support a workforce of over 1,400 employees across the state. This role is a working supervisor position designed for someone who can navigate complex situations, build trust quickly, and provide clear, thoughtful guidance in moments that matter. Work Environment & Flexibility • Reports to headquarters located at 501 N. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27604 • This position requires a minimum of one day of on-site work per week with a flex schedule. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences • Demonstrated ability to lead complex employee relations investigations, including handling sensitive matters with confidentiality and sound judgment. • Proven experience advising leaders at all levels on employment policies, performance management, conflict resolution, and organizational culture. • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret trends in employee relations data and recommend proactive strategies. • Experience partnering with HR, Legal, and senior leadership to ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and to support organizational goals. • Three (3) years of directly related experience in the concentration of Employee Relations, Equal Employment Opportunity, Performance Management, or Legal. Recruitment Range: $63,927- $94,000 Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. Bachelor's degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 4 years of experience required; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
