About the Role
North Carolina Cyber Academy (NCCA) is seeking a dynamic, student-centered leader to serve as Director of Student Services. This position ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, strengthens multi-tiered supports, and leads cross-functional teams to improve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional outcomes for our students statewide.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide district-level leadership and oversight of Section 504 compliance, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations
- Support our school psychologists, counselors, and social workers, fostering professional growth and service quality
- Lead and continuously improve the district’s comprehensive school mental health framework, including suicide risk assessment, threat assessment (BTAM), and crisis response protocols
- Design, implement, and monitor required mental health and safety training programs for staff
- Oversee and strengthen the Military-Connected Students Program, maintaining Purple Star status and ensuring program fidelity and family engagement
- Oversee and maintain district protocols for Return-to-Learn (TBI) and Hospital-Homebound services, ensuring equitable access and procedural compliance
- Lead district-wide MTSS implementation, overseeing data collection and analysis, intervention delivery, and fidelity measures (e.g., FAM-S)

Qualifications Required
- North Carolina licensure in School Psychology, School Counseling, School Social Work, or a related field
- 7 years of relevant experience
- Deep knowledge of MTSS, Section 504, and school mental health compliance
- Experience supporting or supervising multidisciplinary teams
Preferred
- Administrative licensure
- District-level leadership experience
- Experience in a virtual or blended learning environment
