High School Mathematics teacher
North Broward Preparatory School is seeking a full-time mathematics teacher with experience and expertise in teaching Pre-Calculus and higher-level secondary mathematics. The ideal candidate will be confident and capable in courses such as pre-calculus, honors pre-calculus and IB/AP Mathematics. The educator should feel comfortable designing courses with practical applications connected to real-world problem-solving; facilitating the transition from concrete to abstract mathematical concepts and creating meaningful and relevant learning experiences for students.
This teacher will also serve as an advisor to a group of students, meeting with them twice a week for mentoring, academic coaching, leadership training, team building, and community service initiatives. These are all part of helping our students gain social and emotional learning through the five core competencies of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
The teacher should be familiar with Standards-Based Learning. Applicant should be comfortable working with technology (iPad, computer, graphing calculators, etc.).
Opportunities to participate in sponsoring the Math Club and Math Honor Society, and to help students participate in math competitions both locally, nationally, and internationally are possible.
