Role Description The Middle School Mathematics Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Hollywood, FL. This position is responsible for planning and delivering engaging math lessons for middle school students, with a focus on algebra and foundational mathematics aligned with Montessori principles and state standards. Daily responsibilities include designing and adapting curriculum, leading classroom instruction, providing small-group and individualized support, assessing student progress, and maintaining accurate records. The teacher collaborates with colleagues and families to support student growth, participates in school meetings and professional development, and contributes to a positive, respectful classroom culture. The role also involves managing classroom materials, integrating real-world applications of mathematics, and fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Mathematics, including Algebra and other middle school math concepts.
- Experience teaching Middle School learners and understanding of adolescent development.
- Background in Mathematics Education and Curriculum Development for grades 6–8.
- Ability to integrate Montessori approaches or willingness to learn Montessori methods.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Relevant teaching certification or licensure, or eligibility to obtain it, as required by local regulations.
