North Broward Preparatory School, a Nord Anglia Education school, is seeking a high school American Sign Language teacher to expand the language offerings in our World Languages and Cultures department. The teacher will be in charge of the ASL curriculum development and implementation. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator with strong ASL skills and a commitment to high-quality language instruction. We are looking for an Interim Teacher who can start in April for approximately 12 weeks, with the potential to transition into a full-time ASL teaching role for the 2026–2027 school year. PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) rating of 3–5 (required).Familiarity with the formative and summative approach.Member of ACTFL or other language association preferred.Valid teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain certification) in ASL/World Languages preferred.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for producing reports and presentations.Good cross-cultural, interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse nationalities and cultures.Excellent analytical skills – with the passion and drive to demonstrate and quantify success.Results orientated with the ability to consistently map efforts against identified KPIs.Excellent time management skills and flexibility in dealing with multi-functional tasks.You’d like to work in a purpose-led sector.
