Job Summary
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) in our physician practice clinics, you’ll play a critical role in supporting both patients and providers. You will perform a combination of clinical and administrative tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of outpatient care. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact patient well-being while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the direction of the provider staff.
- Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Dress wounds, remove sutures/staples, and carry out other basic clinical tasks.
- Record and maintain vital signs and other essential patient information.
- Clean and sterilize medical instruments and maintain examination room cleanliness.
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies and report needs as appropriate.
- Conduct simple lab tests, perform EKGs, and assist with x-rays as required.
- Provide patient instruction per provider’s direction and ensure clear communication.
- Perform basic administrative duties including reception, clerical work, and billing assistance.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work with attention to detail
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a clinic or outpatient office setting
- Familiarity with general office procedures and medical terminology
- Additional training or coursework in medical assisting or healthcare support
Compensation & Schedule
- Non-exempt, hourly position (Job Grade: 012)
- Full-time and PRN shifts may be available
- Reports to Clinic Administration
