What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/ Canine Handler position at North American Veterinary Blood Bank?
Looking for a great way to work with animals and save lives outside of the normal veterinary practice? The North American Veterinary Blood Bank is looking for an addition to our team to help us keep up with the ever-growing demand for canine blood donors.
We are looking for someone who truly loves animals and wants to make a career out of it. In this role, you will work hands-on with each volunteer blood donor and make them comfortable through the donation process. Hugs, treats, pillows, whatever they want! You will also get experience with basic lab work.
This position will require long periods of standing and heavy lifting. This position is very physical. You will be required to meet at our Richmond, VA office daily to load the company vehicle before traveling to various off-site donation locations for the day.
There is room to grow this position into a career if you are just starting out in the veterinary field.
We are a small team that all work closely together. We are looking for someone that is as passionate about saving animals as we are. Some other qualities we are looking for are reliability, responsibility, the ability to easily adapt to change, and good critical thinking.
