NEW/USED TRUCK COST ACCOUNTANT

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting principles and practices. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting for new and used trucks and trailers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Print out invoices from the truck manufacturers and record the cost on the general ledger.
- Track all costs that occur for new and used trucks and ensure they are assigned to the correct truck.
- Create a folder for used trucks and setup costs in accounting software
- Create sales folders for each truck/trailer sold and ensure all needed documentation is enclosed in the sales folder throughout the sales process.
- Calculate commissions for sales staff and verify amounts once they are entered into the accounting system.
- Calculate Federal Excite tax
- Complete necessary documentation for the Accounting Department for payments received on all truck sales
- Reconcile flooring account balances against the bank flooring balances
- Create purchase orders for service work to be done on trucks
- Create journal entries for accounting for the sale or transfer of trucks
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ideal candidate will have a 2- or 4-year degree in accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and standards
- Excellent analytical problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
