Role Description
North American Production Sharing is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and lead the monthly close cycle. This is a full-time, on-site, role for an Accounting Manager based in San Diego, CA. This role is responsible for executing, reviewing, and managing accounting processes, including journal entries, cash and general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, and analytical reviews.
The Accounting Manager will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial results, maintain robust accounting records and uphold compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
The ideal candidate will bring 5 years of experience in financial accounting, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position supervises a team of 1–3 individuals and oversees multiple entities and areas of responsibility, while reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations: Review accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Cash management and bank reconciliations for all Corporate & Partnership Entities
• Prepare and/or review account reconciliations, manual journal entries, and financial statements.
• Execute the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff members, fostering professional growth and accountability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and special projects.
• Prepare support for external CPA requests
Travel to our Tijuana facility will be periodically needed
Qualifications
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements
- Expertise in Journal Entries (Accounting) and related processes
- Experience leading teams, mentoring staff accountants and collaborating across departments
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant certification highly preferred
- 5 years' experience in the accounting function, including 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Position is in office, requirement to live within commuting distance to Solana Beach, CA.
