North American Power Systems (NAPS) is a renewable energy company which produces electricity from landfill methane for sale to third parties, and delivers landfill methane to end users for employment in their industrial processes. NAPS has owned, operated and maintained renewable energy projects since 1979 and currently owns and operates three electric generating stations and a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Plant.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB
Daily responsibilities are to maintain all aspects of power plant and keep equipment in like- new condition. Some duties will be engine maintenance as in oil changes, valve lash, and spark plug changes which are monthly duties along with roof fan maintenance, and building maintenance. Most of these duties are taught within the first year of employment. Tools are provided by our company.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB
NAPS is looking for an employee with tech school or Associate Degree or several years of experience in the industrial engine maintenance field. Applied science preferred.
Mechanical skills needed are basic tool functions and valve lash, turbo replacement, head replacement, spark plug replacement, water pump replacement and some general piping abilities. Basic engine repair skills needed.
Electrical skills needed are basic know- how to use a multi meter for measuring resistance and test electrical circuits and troubleshooting motor windings and fuse systems. Most work is 230-480 3 phase and can be taught with on job training. Three phase electrical trouble shooting is required on a small scale.
Must be willing to be on call during scheduled times during week or weekend for outages with utility during storms or planned shut downs.

Position pays a competitive salary for industry based on experience, this includes 401k retirement program, vacation and Medical insurance.
