What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Plumbing Service Coordinator position at North American Mechanical, Inc.?
The Plumbing Service Coordinator supports our Service Plumbing team by ensuring service calls, small projects, retrofits, and replacement work are scheduled, organized, and fully prepared for execution. This individual works closely with Service Plumbers and customers to coordinate daily operations. NAMI provides plumbing service and maintenance to commercial, industrial, and educational facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Coordination, dispatch, and scheduling of plumbing work
- Follow up with customers on repairs, quotes, and overall service
- Work directly with Service Plumbers to confirm scope, materials, ordering, deliveries, safety procedures, and job requirements
- Order and track materials, parts, and equipment needed for upcoming work
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery
- Maintain job documentation, work orders, and service records
- Provide administrative support related to service calls, proposals, and invoicing
- Communicate scheduling updates and follow-ups with customers
- Use NAMI’s ERP and dispatching systems to maintain organized work orders, service files, and digital records
- Support overall efficiency and safe working practices within the plumbing service department
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in plumbing, mechanical, construction, or related industry preferred
- Working knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and terminology strongly preferred
- Experience in a commercial construction coordination, project management, dispatching, or administrative role is a plus
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Team player, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver
