About the Role



You'll play a critical role in protecting neurological function during complex surgical procedures while utilizing cutting-edge technology and evidence-based monitoring techniques.



Responsibilities



  • Perform comprehensive intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring during surgical procedures.
  • Utilize multimodality monitoring techniques including:
  • Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEP)
  • Motor Evoked Potentials (MEP)
  • Electromyography (EMG)
  • Electroencephalography (EEG)
  • Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials (BAEP)
  • Train-of-Four (TOF) monitoring
  • Interpret neurophysiological data in real time and promptly communicate significant changes to the surgical team.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation for each surgical case.
  • Ensure all monitoring equipment is calibrated, functioning properly, and compliant with quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, neurologists, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical education, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development.



Surgical Case Mix



Candidates should be comfortable monitoring a variety of procedures, including:



  • Complex Spine Surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedic Spine
  • Peripheral Nerve Procedures
  • Cranial Surgery
  • ENT Procedures
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Select General Surgical Procedures



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Neurodiagnostics, or a related healthcare field preferred.
  • Experience performing Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM).
  • Strong understanding of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and electrophysiology.
  • Ability to independently monitor surgical cases.
  • Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operating room environment.



Required Skills



  • CNIM (Certified in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring) preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience monitoring complex spine and cranial procedures.
  • Experience utilizing multiple IONM modalities.
  • Background working within hospital OR settings.

Pay range and compensation package



Competitive salary: $95,000–$110,000 DOE, Relocation Assistance Available
