Roving Maintenance Technician in Portland

Looking for a maintenance role where you can take ownership of your properties without being stretched across a huge portfolio? Norris & Stevens is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to support two apartment communities in Portland and Gresham.

This position is split between Douglas Square in SE Portland and East 25 in Gresham. These are two separate locations, so regular travel between the properties will be part of the position. We want to be transparent about that upfront — monthly gas reimbursement is provided to help offset travel between the communities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who knows multifamily maintenance, likes working independently, and wants a position where they can really get to know their properties and take pride in keeping them running well.

What you’ll be doing:

• Completing resident service requests and work orders
• Turning vacant apartments and getting homes ready for new residents
• Troubleshooting and completing general plumbing, electrical, appliance, drywall, painting and carpentry repairs
• Performing preventative maintenance
• Keeping property exteriors, common areas and maintenance spaces in good condition
• Walking properties regularly and identifying maintenance needs before they become larger issues
• Coordinating with management on turns, priorities, materials and vendor needs
• Communicating clearly about completed work and anything that still needs attention

What we’re looking for:

• Previous multifamily or residential maintenance experience
• Strong general maintenance and troubleshooting skills
• Someone dependable who can manage their own schedule and priorities
• Good communication and follow-through
• Ability to work independently while still being part of the larger property team
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Comfortable regularly traveling between the Portland and Gresham properties
