Norris Middle School is accepting applications for a Boys Basketball Assistant Coach for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in all aspects of the basketball program while providing a positive and supportive experience for student-athletes.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with planning and conducting practices and games.
- Encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.
- Help monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and behavior.
- Assist with supervision of athletes during practices, games, and team travel.
- Support the implementation of the team's philosophy, goals, and expectations.
- Comply with all Anderson County Schools, TMSSAA/TSSAA, and school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and the community.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Must meet all district employment requirements and coaching certification requirements.
