Description:
Responsible for collecting gate fees and checking status of pool passes for residents, non-residents and pool pass holders. This position is a part-time II, non-exempt position that will be hired seasonally.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
The gate cashier must have a high school degree or equivalent and must have some skill in handling cash, dealing effectively with the public and in working with computers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in answering phone calls for the park district.
- Checks that pass-holders passes are valid before entering the pool.
- Takes customers payments for pool gate fees and makes correct change when needed.
- Assures that customers are provided with excellent customer service.
- Completes financial close-outs for each shift to be approved by the pool manager on duty.
- Prepares and counts cash register(s) banks at beginning and end of shifts.
- Prepares bank bags and deposit tickets and delivers them to the Fitness Center drop safe.
- Notifies Manager of needed bank, equipment or office supplies and repairs.
- Replenishes copies of color-coded close-out forms when needed and keeps them organized in the pool desk files.
- Makes sure gate desk area is clean before, during and the end of shifts.
- Makes sure waste and garbage is disposed of in park district dumpster.
- Promotes a positive attitude among staff members and patrons.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR, first aid and AED certifications.
- Participates in “community activities and special events”.
- Promotes and performs all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District’s safety program.
- Assists with pool birthday parties when necessary.
