This is a full-time, on-site Toolmaker role located in Rochester, NY. The Toolmaker will be responsible for the creation, maintenance, and repair of precision tools, molds, and fixtures. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints, operating machinery such as lathes and milling machines, performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment, and ensuring all components meet quality standards and specifications. Effective collaboration with the manufacturing team to refine designs and improve tooling is an essential part of the role.
- Proficiency in tooling operations including lathes, milling machines, and grinders
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Experience in repairing, maintaining, and modifying tools, molds, and fixtures
- Strong attention to detail and precision in a manufacturing environment
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues efficiently
- Knowledge of CNC programming and operation is a plus
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a manufacturing setting
- High school diploma or GED; an apprenticeship or technical certification is beneficial
