Pharmacy Shipping Assistant
Nordic Pharmacy is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Shipping Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive their medications accurately and on time. Working closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and operational staff, the Shipping Assistant is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping prescription medications while maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.
Major Responsibilities
- Package prescription medications for shipment according to company procedures and quality standards.
- Input and verify patient shipping information using USPS, UPS, FedEx, and other shipping software.
- Generate shipping labels with accurate postage and shipping costs.
- Bill patient credit cards and manage A/R accounts
- Coordinate outgoing shipments with local carriers and delivery partners.
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and communicate supply needs.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, technicians, and other departments to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Process prescription refill requests as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked shipping workspace, including routine housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, and trash removal.
- Participate in workflow improvements and support a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
- Standing with frequent walks of short distances and stairs.
- Occasionally must be able to lift up to 30 lbs from floor to chest. Frequently must be able to lift 5-7 lbs from floor to 7 feet.
- Must be able to frequently bend or stoop to stock below waist level shelves and to remove merchandise. Crouching, twisting and pivoting at the waist and kneeling or squatting to low shelves is often required.
- Frequently perform repetitive hand movements and fine motor tasks associated with packaging medications.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
Required
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Pharmacy attire required and provided.
- Ability to obtain a Washington State Pharmacy Assistant license.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand conversational English.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Must demonstrate courteous and professional interpersonal communication skills towards customers, physicians, supervisors and employee associates.
Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of prior retail/customer service experience preferred.
- One year of prior mail experience preferred.
- Basic pharmacy knowledge preferred (on the job training provided).

- Monday - Thursday 8am-12:30pm (dependent on business needs).
