What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3D Asset Creator — Internship position at Nordblooms?
3D Asset Creator — Internship
Unpaid · New York (Remote) · Summer 2025
About Nordblooms
Nordblooms is a New York-based botanical design studio creating high-end preserved floral arrangements, indoor trees, green walls, and interior garden installations for luxury hospitality, retail, and residential clients. We are building a library of photorealistic 3D models of our products for use by an architectural visualization firm working on luxury interior design projects.
The Role
You will build a growing library of 3D assets — botanical elements, planters, and modular green wall panels — that meet a photorealistic, pipeline-ready standard for use in 3ds Max with V-Ray or Corona Renderer. This is not a placement and click role. You are building geometry using whichever professional tools you know — Blender, Cinema 4D, ZBrush, Rhino, or AI-assisted tools such as Meshy.ai, Luma AI, or CSM — and delivering assets that slot directly into an architectural visualization workflow without further work from the receiving team. All final assets must be set up and delivered in 3ds Max with V-Ray or Corona Renderer materials applied.
What You Will Build
- Individual botanical assets — flowers, foliage varieties, moss, stems, trailing plants, and indoor trees, built as scatterable, instanceable objects for use with Forest Pack in 3ds Max
- Planters and vessels — hard surface models in ceramic, terracotta, concrete, stone, metal, and timber across a range of scales
- Modular green wall panels — scalable panel systems with botanical assets scattered across them that the architecture firm can tile and adjust independently
What We Are Looking For
- Currently studying architecture, industrial or product design, or CGI and 3D visualization
- Ability to build 3D geometry using one or more professional tools — Blender, Cinema 4D, ZBrush, Rhino, or AI-assisted tools such as Meshy.ai, Luma AI, or CSM
- 3ds Max proficiency for materials, final setup, and delivery — all assets must be delivered as .MAX files with V-Ray or Corona Renderer materials applied
- V-Ray or Corona Renderer material creation covering plant foliage, ceramic, concrete, metal, stone, and timber
- Ability to work from single or limited-angle photo reference
- Portfolio showing photorealistic output — not stylized or cartoon. The quality benchmark is luxury architectural visualization.
What You Get
- Assets that have been commercially used in real luxury interior design projects — directly portfolio-relevant
- Experience delivering into a professional architectural visualization pipeline
- Exposure to a growing design brand with luxury clients.
