Apartment Maintenance Technician (Summer Temporary) Job Description:

We are seeking a Summer Maintenance Technician with experience in multi-family housing (apartments) in Brookline, MA. This position will be a Summer Temporary position running ideally from Mid May to Mid September depending on the availability of who we hire. We are looking for a total of 16 weeks of help. This position will report to Brookline, MA where we have a variety of assets. This is for a Maintenance Technician position and you must meet the below job responsibilities and skill set to apply.

Qualifications

• Painting skills a plus
• Ability to perform Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance
• General handy person skills a plus
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training is a plus
• Previous experience in property maintenance or similar positions is advantageous but not required.

Maintenance Technician Job Responsibilities:

• Appliance Repair
• Painting and Drywall Skills
• Basic Electrical (ability to install fixtures, make minor repairs, troubleshoot problems)
• Basic Plumbing skills
• Basic Carpentry skills
• Ability to complete basic service request (Handyman skills)
• HVAC experience a plus and EPA Certification would be great as well

Maintenance Technician Job Requirements: (Must meet all of the below requirements in order to apply)

• At least 2 years experience working in handyman type field.
• Ability to rotate on call with your Supervisor and rest of team every 3 weeks
• Valid Drivers License
• Daily Transportation is necessary for on call work
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must be able to pass a drug, credit and criminal background check
• Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to operate all necessary hand tools and to kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl to reach items in need of repairs. Frequently moves about to coordinate work.
• Able to use computers and the technology that goes along with it to receive service requests, close out service requests, order supplies when necessary etc.

Maintenance Technician Education Requirements

• GED, High School diploma or Trade School equivalent

Maintenance Technician Characteristics:

• Ability to work independent and as part of a team
• Willingness to be open to learning from Maintenance Supervisor
• Friendly personality (Our team members know our residents names and converse with them on a frequent basis).
• On time
• Organized
• Enjoys variety in their day and work

Maintenance Technician Pay:

• Hourly position paying $25-27 per hour based upon experience. Higher end of range would be someone with several years experience in industry, skilled at HVAC, unit turns, appliance repairs and some certifications such as EPA.
