Job Summary
The Apprentice Mechanic will be responsible for learning the proper techniques for maintaining, diagnosting, testing and making repairs on a wide variety of vehicles and vehicle systems. Vehicles will include sedans, pick-up trucks, service vans, utility trucks with and without cranes, straight trucks, bobtails, tractors, trailers, dump trucks and construction equipment. Vehicle systems will include a/c, brakes, electrical, power train, suspension, tires, computer systems, metering systems, piping and tanks as well as body work and painting.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain outstanding customer service at all times
- Ensure the consistency and quality of each task performed
- Learn to perform vehicle inspections, diagnosis and repairs on all fleet vehicles and equipment
- Learn to perform all aspects of vehicle repairs by using various types of diagnostics and testing equipment
- Be responsible for the cleanliness of the area where work is performed
- Clearly communicate details of the vehicle service to the FleetSupervisor and Fleet Manager
- Neatly and completely fill out service paperwork
- Other duties as assigned
- High school graduate. Mechanic trade schooling a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to build a professional tool set
- Able to work efficiently under direct supervision
- Able to work well under pressure and tight dead lines
- Work in accordance with established safety procedures
- $20.00 - $22.00 perhour
