Senior Tax Accountant

Our client, a well-established public accounting firm located in Manhattan, is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to support their growing practice. This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse clients across multiple industries while handling complex tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual (high-net-worth) and corporate income tax returns
• Handle foreign tax filings, including FBARs, Forms 1116, 5471, and 5472
• Manage FBAR reporting, PFIC reporting, and other international tax compliance requirements
• Prepare sales tax and commercial rent tax returns for clients across various industries
• Review and respond to correspondence from tax authorities on behalf of clients
• Develop and analyze fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations
• Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets
• Provide tax planning guidance and prepare tax estimates for clients, including more complex scenarios
• Calculate quarterly and annual tax provisions, assist with disclosures, test deferred tax balances, and reconcile filings to provisions
• Draft research memoranda, client correspondence, and technical documentation for submission to the IRS and other tax authorities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or EA license and/or Master's degree in Taxation (preferred)
• Minimum 4-6 years of tax preparation experience within a CPA firm environment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical capabilities
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with ProSystem fx Tax, Axcess, or Engagement software is a plus

Salary: $100,000 - $125,000
