Overview
We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance function while serving as a critical liaison between local operations, executive leadership, and corporate finance.
This position combines traditional controllership responsibilities with strategic financial planning, business analysis, and executive-level communication. The Controller will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to develop business plans, evaluate investments, support growth initiatives, and present financial recommendations to corporate stakeholders.
Success in this role requires more than strong accounting skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable building compelling financial business cases, presenting recommendations to senior leadership, responding to challenging questions, and driving alignment across multiple levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance standards
- Oversee financial reporting requirements and corporate reporting deliverables
- Coordinate audits and support corporate finance initiatives
Strategic Planning & Business Analysis
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on long-range planning and business strategy
- Develop financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support key initiatives
- Evaluate capital investments, operational improvements, and growth opportunities
- Perform profitability analysis and support strategic decision-making
Corporate Partnership & Executive Communication
- Serve as the primary financial liaison between the business unit and corporate leadership
- Prepare and present business cases, forecasts, and financial recommendations
- Translate operational initiatives into financially sound proposals
- Support executive leadership in securing approval and funding for strategic initiatives
- Respond to corporate inquiries and provide detailed financial analysis as needed
Manufacturing Finance & Operations
- Oversee cost accounting, inventory controls, and manufacturing finance activities
- Drive margin improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
- Support pricing analysis and investment evaluations
- Monitor key performance indicators and operational financial performance
Leadership & Systems
- Lead and develop Accounting, Finance, and finance-related IT functions
- Support ERP enhancements and financial systems improvements
- Drive process improvement, reporting automation, and data integrity initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- 10 years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience
- Manufacturing or industrial finance experience strongly preferred
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and long-range planning experience
- Experience presenting to executive leadership, corporate finance teams, or board-level stakeholders
- Strong background in cost accounting and operational finance
- Experience supporting capital investment decisions and business case development
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on financial leadership
