Senior Technical Accounting and Reporting Manager

The Senior Technical Accounting and Reporting Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the company’s financial reporting and technical accounting processes. This role involves researching complex accounting issues, implementing new accounting standards, and preparing financial statements. This person will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure the integrity of financial information and support the Director of Technical Accounting & Reporting in maintaining robust financial reporting practices.

What You'll Be Doing

• Research and resolve complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP; draft technical memos and provide accounting guidance to key stakeholders.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Legal, Product, Operations) to assess accounting implications of new contracts and business initiatives.
• Implement new accounting standards and ensure consistent application across the organization.
• Support M&A activities, including technical due diligence, accounting treatment assessments, and post-merger integration.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and disclosures.
• Develop, maintain, and improve internal controls over financial reporting and assist with SOX readiness and compliance.
• Coordinate and manage the external audit process, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors.
• Assist in maintaining and updating critical accounting policies and documentation.
• Communicate complex accounting topics in a clear and concise way to both finance and non-finance audiences.
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and workflows for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
• CPA certification.
• 5 years of experience in a Big4 accounting firm, or Consulting/Advisory or public company experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and SEC reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, equity transactions, capitalized software, inventory, and financial instruments.

Base Salary

• The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000 - $188,000.
• Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting is based on Noom’s estimate as of the date of publication and reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position across all US locations. The actual placement of the candidate within the range is based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, assessment of functional skills and behavioral competencies, scope, and location. This range is not inclusive of any discretionary bonus or equity package.
