About The Genesis School

Since 1975, we have been guided by the philosophy that “it takes a village to raise a child.” Our mission is to endow students with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets necessary to succeed in college preparatory high schools and beyond. Our Core Values are High Growth, High Urgency, High Expectations, High Support and High Dignity.

Who We Serve

We proudly serve a student body primarily composed of urban youth, many of whom live within three miles of our campus. We operate as a “functional reality” of the village concept, providing not just rigorous academics, but a safety net that includes embedded mental health services, counseling, and extensive before-and-after-school care.

While we serve a high-risk population, our focus is on growth for students and staff. We have been recognized among Kansas City charters for our academic improvement and student growth metrics. We believe that a caring, personalized learning environment removes barriers, allowing students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Why We Need You

We are seeking a leader who believes schools can simultaneously be rigorous, joyful, structured, and deeply relational.
