A local non-profit organization has an immediate need for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about employee engagement, compliance, and organizational success. This position is a two month temporary role.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily Human Resources operations and team performance
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee relations and HR support
- Lead full-cycle recruitment: job postings, screening, interviews, and hiring
- Oversee onboarding processes including background checks and offer letters
- Facilitate new hire orientation
- Supervise HR staff (coaching, training, performance management)
- Administer employee benefits and ensure accurate enrollments
- Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, LOA, and employment regulations
- Handle workers’ compensation and unemployment claims
- Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with policies and laws
- Support employee engagement, retention, and training initiatives
- Prepare HR reports and analyze workforce data
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with HRIS/ATS systems (ADP preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
