Duties
- Greet clients warmly, answer inquiries, and schedule appointments with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Manage veterinary software systems to update patient records, process appointments, and handle billing procedures
- Support kennel operations by providing animal husbandry.
- Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, vaccination schedules, and follow-up appointments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of front desk area, including filing documents and managing veterinary administrative support tasks
- Adhere to all regulations including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and USDA guidelines during medication handling and record keeping
- Support veterinary critical care procedures by understanding basic veterinary terminology.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with veterinary technicians and other staff members on pet care
Experience
- Prior experience in a veterinary clinic is highly desirable
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine
- Familiarity with veterinary software systems and Microsoft Office applications to support administrative functions
- Understanding of laboratory procedures related to veterinary diagnostics or laboratory experience in an animal health setting
- Basic knowledge of equine experience or large animal handling is a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
